I grew up a creative. I was always drawing, painting, taking art lessons, etc. I began getting into photography in middle school, and by high school my parents bought me my first DSLR. Toward the end of high school, I attended a backpacking summer camp in Colorado, carrying my camera along with me, and I fell in love with the beauty and grandeur of the mountains! It was from that experience that I knew I would eventually move to CO. I didn’t know how or when, but all I knew was that it would happen. Upon graduating high school, I decided to major in nursing, essentially leaving the creative part of me behind in a lot of ways. I finished my degree, began working, and got caught up in the cycle of life.

In 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, a coworker asked me to take photos of her delivery since her family couldn’t be there. I dusted off my old DSLR, and while the photos weren’t perfect, it sparked something deep inside me—a long-buried creative passion. That moment felt like a wake-up call, and I knew I had to reconnect with that side of myself. I used a small bonus to buy a new camera and began rediscovering the joy of creating. In 2021 my long-time dream of moving to Colorado came into fruition. Living here has brought a season of healing, growth, and spiritual renewal, and I couldn't be more thankful.
It’s been a journey of learning to trust God’s timing, and I see how He used that moment in 2020 to draw me back to the creative path He had for me.

The longer I'd been a photographer, the more aware I became of the style that inspired me the most: documentary, photojournalism, and film. I began testing out my hand at film three years ago, which was yet another grace. I began to notice how much I was trying to manipulate everything to be perfect. I quickly learned that film has this certain beauty to it that you can't manipulate. The beauty of only saying yes to clicking the shutter when my heart felt it was right. I started to see that slowing down and looking with more intention moved my heart to see more of the beauty of the story unfolding right before my eyes. Those moments were absolute gifts to me, and have truly led me to where I am now and my desire to shoot in the way that I do. Teaching me little by little that these stories, these moments, are not mine to manipulate or control.
